How to Choose a Branding and Packaging Agency in Delhi

Delhi NCR has hundreds of agencies that call themselves branding experts. Some are design studios, some are advertising agencies with a design desk, and some are freelancers with a strong Instagram page. All can be the right choice for the right project. These eight checks will help you pick the branding agency in Delhi that fits yours.

1. Look for work in your category, not just good-looking work

A beautiful portfolio tells you an agency has taste. Work in your category tells you they understand your shelf, buyer and regulations. A liquor brand needs someone who knows excise approvals. A snack brand needs someone who has designed for kirana stores and quick commerce. Browse an agency's work by industry and look for at least two projects close to yours.

2. Ask what happens before design starts

The best agencies spend real time on research and positioning before they open a design file. Ask to see their brand strategy process. If the answer is "we'll send three logo options next week", you are buying decoration, not branding.

3. Check whether they can carry the brand onto packaging

Many logo design agencies in Delhi stop at the identity. If you sell a physical product, you need a partner who can take that identity onto packs, labels and retail. A disconnect between the logo team and the packaging team is one of the most common reasons a brand looks inconsistent.

4. See the whole system, not just the logo

Ask for case studies that show colour, typography, patterns, packaging, signage and digital, together. A brand is a system. A visual identity that only works on a business card will fail on a hoarding or a shelf.

5. Ask about naming

New brands often need a name before they need a logo. Agencies that offer naming, like the work behind Gresbond for Kajaria or 7 Bazaari, can shape the whole brand from the first word.

6. Understand who will actually do the work

In larger agencies, the senior team pitches and a junior team delivers. In a brand design studio, the people you meet are usually the people who design. Ask directly who will lead your project.

7. Agree on the process and timeline

A typical identity project runs six to ten weeks, and a packaging range adds more. Ask for a written plan with stages, review points and the number of revision rounds included.

8. Compare quotes on scope, not price alone

Line up what each quote includes: research, strategy, number of concepts, number of SKUs, 3D renders and print support. A cheaper quote often leaves out the stages that make the work effective.

Questions to ask in the first meeting

Bring these to every agency conversation. The answers will tell you more than any portfolio:

  1. What would you need to know about our business before you start designing?
  2. Which project in your portfolio is closest to ours, and what was the result?
  3. Who on your team will work on our brand day to day?
  4. How many concepts and revision rounds are included?
  5. Do you handle packaging artwork, print proofs and production support?
  6. What happens if we are not happy with the first round?
  7. Who owns the final files and the rights to the design?

An agency that answers these clearly and asks good questions back is usually one that will be good to work with.

Delhi, Gurgaon or Noida: does location matter?

Most of the process works remotely. Location helps when you need press checks, prototype reviews or store visits. A studio in South Delhi can easily serve clients in Gurgaon, Noida and across India, and many of our clients are outside Delhi entirely.

Red flags to watch for

  • No questions about your customers or competitors
  • Fixed price before understanding your scope
  • Portfolio full of concepts but few launched products
  • No mention of print, production or regulatory details

Frequently asked questions

Should I hire a separate agency for packaging?

Only if your branding agency has no packaging experience. Keeping both with one team keeps the brand consistent and saves time.

How many logo concepts should I expect?

Two or three strong, well-reasoned routes are more useful than ten quick options.
